La Mirada Birth Photographer & Doula

I believe we are all uniquely created out of great Love. We all have a purpose and a story to tell.

Life is full of many adventures and the journey of motherhood is a grand adventure that comes with many highs and lows, tears of joy and tears of sorrow, feelings of insignificance and feelings of gratitude.

“… for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” - Nehemiah 8:10

What it means to be your doula…

As a birth support, I walk alongside you, nurturing, encouraging, honoring and praying for and over your family. I believe mother and baby have the ability to enjoy a safe birth experience without intervention but am also thankful for the assistance of interventions when wanted and necessary.

My job as a doula and support is to help families understand the process and choices they have, so they are able to communicate with their caregivers what their wishes and plans are and to give them the support and tools they need to feel confident.

Your body was created to be able to carry and birth your baby and I’m here to encourage you in this truth.

  • “Alaina is INCREDIBLY talented and brings her deeply calming, grounding presence to any birth space. Her photos and video helped me remember and process my birth story, which didn’t go as planned (does it ever?! ) so I was worried the photos wouldn’t be amazing. THEY WERE!”

    -Kassidy C.

  • “Thank you again for being such a wonderful support to us! The past few days are a blur, but I am so thankful we’ll have some pictures for me to recount it all. You brought such a sweet and calm presence to a very difficult but incredibly special event.”

    -Stacie B.

  • “We thank God you got to be part of it and were there to support us. I will always remember & cherish you praying over us during a difficult stage of laboring. “

    -Julie A.

  • “Thank you again and again for your gentle presence. You truly made a world of difference, I can’t even put it into words. I look forward to telling my pregnant mama friends about you!!!”

    -Liz F.

The Celebration of a new little life…

As a doula, I walk alongside you without judgment, nurturing your family while guarding your dignity and right to informed decision-making.  I believe that more often than not, mother and baby have the ability to enjoy a safe birth experience without intervention. Your body was created to be able to carry and birth your baby. No mother, no baby, and no birthing process is exactly the same as another - even within the mother’s own subsequent pregnancy experiences.  My job as a servant and guide is to smooth the transition and help families to communicate with their caregivers, in order to recognize deviations if they occur and assist in making wise decisions while keeping the mother’s end goal in mind - whatever that may be.
