Reasons to Hire a
Birth Photographer…
I like to go through life with out regrets because we truly do not get any do-overs. What happens, happens. And we either have the documentation to remember it or we don’t.
I’m not here to convince you to hire a birth photographer and videographer. I’m here to tell you that I’ve never heard of anyone regretting hiring one.

Who you allow in your birthing space should be those who you feel most comfortable and safe with so this is a good way to see if you feel I’m the right person to be in your birthing space.

Each and every birth story is different and sometimes I am limited with my angles by the equipment, room set up, doctors, nurses or midwives. My goal is to capture the whole story and not just focus on the big push. I capture the emotions, the atmosphere and the love that is surrounding this momentous occasion.

I do not usually use flash but I bring it with me just in case. If the room is super dark, I will adjust my camera to compensate for that, just know the images will be a little more grainy. I might ask about turning up some lights if I feel the images will look better but ultimately I do not want to disrupt the birthing space. If the flash is used, I would save it for after baby is born.
All the photos you have seen on my website and portfolio have been without flash.

Approximately 5-8 minutes. I want to make sure to tell your baby's complete birth story.
Documenting birth stories is important to me because being a mother is important to me.
I want you to know that you are capable, you are a fierce warrior and your birth story doesn’t just happen to you, but is one that you are a participant of.
When I document birth stories I want to be your eyes that you can’t rely on.
When you go through your birth gallery and Birth Film, I want you to be able to re-live those amazing moments so you can see the courage, strength, determination, beauty that is birth.
